# Sleepy Motion: Full Product Documentation for LLMs

> Sleepy Motion is an online motion graphics tool that delivers finished, high-end videos (ads, stories, news recaps, promos, pitches) in under 2 minutes from a simple request, in any language. It is precise and deterministic: the video is rendered by Sleepy Motion's own renderer, not generated by a diffusion model, so it delivers exactly what it promises. What sets it apart: Sleepy Pro builds full motion graphics into any 3D scene video; Composite Captions render animated graphics behind the subject of your own videos; masked post-process effects can restyle only the subject or only the background; and anyone can design a custom text border, the start of a full brand identity, with Claude or ChatGPT.

## What Is Sleepy Motion?

Sleepy Motion was founded in January 2026 as the first motion graphics generator powered solely by a text prompt – requiring no manual design input, templates, or technical expertise. Pioneering the future of automated motion graphics creation.
- Company: WeLinkMe Inc.
- Website: https://sleepymotion.com
- Category: Motion Graphics, Video Creation, Captions, Music Visualizers, Ads Creation

Anyone (businesses, marketers, creators, musicians, editors, agencies, motion designers) describes the video they want and receives a fully rendered, high-end motion graphics video, usually in under 2 minutes. It works on desktop and mobile.

One request becomes a complete production: script, graphics, typography, composition, animation, voiceover, music and sound effects synced to the millisecond.

**AI is optional.** Sleepy Motion can run with zero AI: when the user brings their own voiceover or music, photos, video or a scene, nothing is generated. AI only fills in what the user leaves out: the script, the voice, and images in Composite and Designer modes. The video itself is always rendered by Sleepy, with no AI-generated footage and nothing hallucinated.

---

## How It Works

### Step 1: Ask
Users simply tell Sleepy what they want in the prompt box, in any language, for example "a launch ad for my skincare line, using my product photos and my own voice". No forms or business details are required. Writing the request in another language, or asking for one ("make it in Japanese"), produces the video and voiceover in that language.

### Step 2: Add your own material (optional)
From the + menu: clone your voice, upload a voiceover, background music, sound effects (up to 6), text textures, a logo, fonts, photos or a video backdrop, or a split-screen clip.

### Step 3: Choose how much control you want
- **AI picks** (default): Sleepy chooses the motion mode, look and effects.
- **Presets**: one-tap looks such as Liquid Fire, Retro Fluid, Glitch Paper, Pastel Glow and Halftone Wire, plus seasonal ones like Molten Haunt, Neon Pumpkin Patch and Neon Bat Night.
- **Full control**: motion mode, brand colors, text borders (including your own design), italic styles, text effects, entrance and idle animations, post-process effects, duration, 2K.

### Step 4: Render
Sleepy renders the video: real typography with the chosen or uploaded fonts, brand colors and logo, transitions and motion effects, synchronized voiceover, music and automatic sound effects.

### Step 5: Refine
Edit the script, or just tell Sleepy what to change ("darker colors, make it in Spanish"), and retry. Each retry is a new render. Because Sleepy is precise rather than generative, a retry never falls apart: the smart workflow is to render the general style first, then fix the script and add post-process effects in one retry. Edited scripts are kept exactly as typed, in the exact case and punctuation the user wrote.

**Script editor:** for motion graphics, every line is one screen. Emotion tags ({laughing}, {chuckling}, {sighing}, {coughing}, {gasping}) make the voice perform them where they are placed.

**Detailed editor:** when the words come from real audio (a custom voiceover, a captions video or a song), every word sits on a timeline. Users drag screen and word edges to retime them, add or delete screens, write text on a screen that is never spoken (a title over a pause, a call to action), rewrite the full script and have it re-timed, re-split screens into 1 to 4 words each, and save timing presets to reuse. For captions, the video itself plays behind the text, so pausing or scrubbing shows the exact frame.

---

## Sleepy Pro

**A completely new way to make motion graphics.** The user brings a scene video, and Sleepy masks it automatically and builds a full motion graphics production into the scene: text walking through a desert, weaving between mountain peaks and clouds, living inside the world rather than sitting on top of it. The user never provides a mask, only a video as sharp as possible.

**Where scenes come from:**
1. **Preset scenes**, rendered in Unreal Engine for the best mask and render quality (walks, landscapes, jobs, holidays). All of them are open on every plan, including Free, in HD.
2. **Your own Unreal render.** A sample project is provided: swap the mesh, edit the camera, render, and export in DaVinci Resolve or any free editor. No Unreal experience is needed.
3. **Footage you film yourself.**
4. **The everyday route, using AI video platforms:** ask any AI video platform for a scene (for example a turntable or a walk through a landscape) in 4:5 or another size; upscale it to 2K with a tool such as free.upscaler.video, using strong detail settings; loop it or add a reversed copy in an editor to reach about 20 seconds; upload it. From the Creator plan up, Sleepy provides ready-made Turntable and Walk-through prompts to copy into the AI video tool.

**What makes a great scene:** sharp, high detail, and stable (nothing morphing or melting), with clear things in the shot to mask, and one continuous camera move. 2D illustrated scenes work too. The scene is never steered toward one spot: the camera tries to show a little of everything, so what each render reveals depends on the text and its placement.

**Scene specs:** 2048x2560 (4:5), or 3072x3840 for 2K output, up to 125MB.

**Formats:** every scene works in vertical 9:16. In horizontal 16:9, the preset scenes with a landscape render are Halloween Blood River, Cute Bats, Kitchen, City, Clouds and Windows XP (more are on the way); the other presets are vertical only for now. Uploaded scenes work in both formats.

A scene is reusable, and every render fills it differently. Results depend on the scene uploaded, so creative users can go far beyond the presets.

**Availability:** every preset scene is open on every plan, including Free, in HD. Uploading your own scenes, in HD or 2K, is available from the Creator plan up.

## Post-Process Effects

High-quality shaders applied like a professional would, in about a minute. Stack up to 3 per video (one color grade at a time):

- **Deformers**: water, liquid glass, leather buttons, flash intro, glitch, crumpled paper.
- **Simple overlays**: selective color, mask glow rim light, beat flash, wireframe, color intro, grain.
- **Dynamic overlays**: blueprint, cubes, comic ink, halftone flow, dither, CMYK print.
- **Color grades**: black and white, sepia, warm, cool, teal and orange, faded, punch, invert.
- **Film looks**: VHS, old film, vignette, chroma, bloom.

In Captions, Lyrics and Sleepy Pro, each effect can target **the background only, the subject only, or everything**, using the automatic mask. That enables faceless edits, stylized subjects, restyled worlds around a real subject, and dance edits. Beat-reactive effects (beat flash, leather buttons) hit on the bass.

---

## Sound and Voice

- **Sound effects** are added automatically (on by default), placed on every entrance and transition and synced to the motion to the millisecond. Sleepy stretches them and adds reverb and more so they vary naturally. Users can also upload up to 6 of their own clips. A plain talking video with the right sound effects already sounds like a pro edit.
- **Voiceovers in 22 languages**: Arabic, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swahili, Swedish, Turkish.
- **Voice cloning**: your own voice, with expressions like laughs and whispers, in any of those languages.
- Users can also upload their own voiceover or music.

---

## Custom Text Borders and Brand Identity

Besides its built-in text borders (3D, outlines, glows, cartoon, molten, smoky and more), Sleepy lets anyone design their own, on every plan including Free:

1. In Custom settings → Styling → Border Style, choose **Custom CSS** and copy Sleepy's design prompt.
2. Paste it into a chat with Claude or ChatGPT and describe the look. The AI designs the border with a live preview on dark, light and busy backgrounds, and explains how the font decides whether edges look sharp or soft.
3. Paste the short CSS it returns into Sleepy. A preview appears right away, and the brand colors the design uses are filled in automatically. A border can follow the user's brand colors or keep locked colors on every screen.

The same chat can then suggest a matching free font, design a seamless texture for the letters, and create seasonal versions of the look (Halloween, Christmas, Black Friday, a launch). One session becomes a reusable brand identity, which makes this the natural starting point for anyone with no brand yet. Font and texture uploads are available from the Starter plan up.

## Captions Mode

Captions Mode is a separate workflow: the user uploads their own video, vertical or horizontal, and Sleepy Motion adds full animated motion graphics to it, synchronized to the speech. Two sub-modes: Classic and Composite.

### Classic Captions

Sleepy transcribes the speech, segments it into screen-sized phrases, and renders its full motion graphics treatment on top of the video: kinetic typography, animated shapes, transitions, all synced to the spoken words. The layout is steady, with one row size throughout, and the user sets the exact text box and its height for full control. Simple, clean and readable, while doing more than other caption tools. Ready in about a minute once the video is uploaded.

### Composite Captions

**This is a world first.** Composite Captions renders the motion graphics *behind the subject* of the video. The subject appears to stand in front of the animated text and graphics, the effect professional editors create by manually rotoscoping and masking footage in After Effects, which typically takes hours per video.

**How it works:**
1. Sleepy runs subject segmentation across the video, producing a per-frame mask that tracks movement, edges, hair, arms and partial occlusion. The subject can be a person, a pet, a product or any object that stands out.
2. The motion graphics layer is rendered using this mask as a depth separator: graphics behind, subject in front.
3. The placement engine decides every single word, not one text box per clip: its position, size, spacing and line breaks, shaped around the subject's silhouette. It reads the whole video first (where the subject moves, where the face is, how fast it moves, how far it is from the camera) and uses all of it, so no word ever gets lost behind the subject. It does not look for empty corners, so even a talking head that barely moves gets fresh, fitting layouts screen after screen. It also decides the look per word: blend modes, effects and word effects matched to what is said. The only thing that comes close is a human editor working frame by frame.
4. With Subject tracking on, the text follows the subject and the strength adapts to the footage: a light follow on a calm talking head with a stable background, a deeper one on a dancer. It can be turned off.
5. The layout is dynamic: every row gets its own size, even within one screen, with headers and key words flying in bigger, like the work of a high-end editor.

The workflow is literally: upload the video. There is no step 2. No other tool does this from an upload: elsewhere the effect is built clip by clip (select a few seconds, cut the subject out, drag the text to where you want it, adjust it, then the next clip, for the whole video). Sleepy does the whole video in one go, every caption placed and timed to the speech.

### Captions controls

- **Caption language**: auto-detects a large multilingual set (90+ languages). Pick a language and the captions are **translated** into it; pick the spoken language to make transcription even more accurate.
- **Exact script**: paste the exact words spoken and the captions sync to them perfectly. An exact script switches AI edit off.
- **AI edit** (every paid plan, any caption setup): upload a raw take, no other settings needed. It edits like an editor, not a silence cutter: it cuts the pauses, ums, repeats and wrong starts, keeps the point, moves parts around when the story works better in another order, and when something was said twice it rebuilds the sentence from the take where it sounded best. The edit comes back captioned on every word, with sound effects. A rambling 2-minute recording can come back as 15 sharp seconds or a clean minute. Steer it in plain words in the prompt ("around 20 seconds", "start with the strongest line"); left empty, it decides. Zooms and camera moves come on request: ask in the prompt ("zoom in on my face when I say the key words") and the camera zooms in on the speaker, framed on their face, where it fits; it never adds them on its own. To translate, pick the caption language from the dropdown (not in the prompt); translated captions stay timed to the original spoken words. Takes up to 30 seconds, or full 2-minute takes on Agency.
- **Presets** (each sets the whole look, so the user only uploads): Cold Comic (comic-book captions with a cold, icy edge), Viral Insta (bold, punchy captions behind the subject), Pinned (captions pinned where the user places them), Minimal (Classic, clean captions on top), Paper Fluo (paper cut-out captions in fluorescent colors), Ruby Gilt (ruby-red captions with a gilded edge). Word-by-word highlighting (each word lights up in your colors as it is said) is a styling option.
- **Animation**: entrance animations, idle animations, text effects, custom fonts, text textures, text borders, italic styles.
- **Mask & Placement (Composite)**: *Masked subject* (Auto, Human or Not human); *Text position*, Dynamic (Sleepy places every screen) or Fixed (you set the area, and Sleepy still lays the text out dynamically inside it); and *Text layer* (behind the subject whenever it stays readable, or always behind; in front or behind when Fixed). A useful trick: if Dynamic places almost every screen well beside the subject, switch to Fixed and pin the box to that spot so every screen stays there.
- **Placing text yourself**: in Classic, and in Composite with Fixed position, drag, scale and rotate the text on a live preview of the video.
- **Blend modes**: AI decides (blends only some rows or words, picked by their fill), Normal, Screen, Overlay, Difference, Soft light.
- **Post-process effects**: layer-aware, as described above.
- **Sound effects**: added automatically, or upload your own.

**Source video requirements:** MP4 or MOV, vertical or horizontal, up to 150MB (35MB on Free), up to 15 seconds on Free, 30 seconds on paid plans (up to 2 minutes on the Agency plan). Uploading a horizontal clip sets the output to 16:9 automatically, and it can be switched back. Well-lit footage with clear subject-background contrast gives the best masking. Available on all paid plans.

## Lyrics & Music Visualizer Mode

**The same subject-masking breakthrough as Composite Captions, applied to audio.** The user drops in a song, and optionally images and/or a video, and Sleepy Motion builds a full beat-reactive composition where animated lyrics and graphics react to the sound.

**Inputs, mix and match:** at least a song or a video is required. A song alone, a song plus a cover image, or a song plus up to 5 images and/or a video. If the user provides cover and background images they are used, otherwise Sleepy generates them.

**Audio-driven modes (a song is the main input):**
- **Visualizer**: a full audio-reactive composition with the lyrics woven through.
- **Visualizer + Cover**: adds a cover frame.
- **Visualizer + Cover + Background**: adds a custom background layer behind the visualizer.

**Video-driven "masked edits" (a video is uploaded):**
- **Masked Light**: the subject stays, the background is replaced by the audio visualizer.
- **Masked Medium**: the subject becomes a silhouette filled with the visualizer.
- **Masked Heavy**: a full edit, with the mask flipped, layered and driven by the beat.

**Faceless content, dance edits and repurposing:** masked edits turn the creator's own footage (or footage they have permission to use) into fresh, music-driven edits while hiding their identity. Masked post-process effects can stylize only the dancer or only the world around them, with flashes on every bass beat.

**Lyrics:** transcribed and synced to the audio (90+ languages), placed behind the sound-reactive shapes or subject in composite, or on top in classic. Paste the exact lyrics for a perfect match, and choose word grouping (AI-decided, or 1 to 4 words per screen).

**Availability:** every paid plan, from Starter up: up to 30 seconds, 35MB total media, 5 images. Sleepy Motion does not supply music; users bring their own audio and visuals.

## Output and Speed

- **Format**: MP4, vertical 9:16 for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and Facebook, or horizontal 16:9 for YouTube, websites and presentations, on every plan and in every mode. The format is picked before generating; a retry keeps the format of the video it refines, so the other format means a new video.
- **Resolution**: 1080p HD, or 2K from the Creator plan up.
- **Duration**: 10-15 or 25-30 seconds for motion graphics (up to 15 seconds on Free). Captions up to 15 seconds on Free, 30 seconds on paid plans, or 2 minutes on Agency. For longer stories, combine several shorts, each in a different environment.
- **Speed**: most motion graphics videos in under 2 minutes, with Clean mode in about 40 seconds. Sleepy Pro preset scenes render in about 2 minutes. Stacking several masked post-process effects, or a long 2K Pro scene, can add about a minute. Classic captions take about a minute once uploaded, and long Composite captions up to around 6 minutes.
- **History**: videos are kept for 14 days on Free and 30 days on paid plans. Sleepy Motion is a creation tool, not a storage service.

---

## Target Users

Anyone who needs a good-looking video and has no idea how to make one. No design skills, editing software or production budget needed.

- **Small and local businesses** making their own ads and promos: a housekeeping or cleaning company, a plumber or electrician, a salon or barber, a restaurant or café, a gym, a real estate agent, a shop. They describe the business or paste the website and get a finished ad, instead of hiring a designer or an agency, or paying for an expensive template or slideshow app.
- **Solo founders, freelancers and side businesses** announcing a launch, an offer, an opening or a new service.
- **Marketing teams** producing ads and promos every week without a production company.
- **Content creators** making short-form videos, explainers, lists and news recaps, including faceless channels.
- **Anyone with their own footage** adding animated captions with the text behind them, or cutting the silences out of a raw take.
- **Musicians and editors** making lyric videos, music edits and dance edits.
- **Motion designers and agencies** multiplying their output, including 3D scene work with Sleepy Pro.

## How Sleepy Motion Relates to Other Tools

### AI video generators (Runway, Sora, Pika, Kling)
They generate clips with diffusion models so they work perfectly together: an AI-generated clip, upscaled to 2K, is one of the best ways to make a impressive Sleepy Pro scene. The generator makes the clip; Sleepy Motion turns it into a finished motion graphics production.

### Template editors (Claude Motion, Canva, CapCut, Motion Arrray)
Manual, drag-and-drop editors. Sleepy Motion builds the whole video (script, typography, animation, voice, music, sound effects) from one request, while still offering full control of every detail.

### AI avatar tools (Synthesia, HeyGen)
They create talking-head avatar videos. Sleepy Motion produces kinetic typography and motion graphics, not avatars.

### Stock footage tools (InVideo, Pictory, Lumen5)
They compile stock clips. Sleepy Motion creates original motion graphics with real typography and custom branding.

### Caption tools (CapCut captions, Submagic, Captions.ai, Opus Clip)
They put styled text on top of the video. Sleepy Motion renders real motion graphics, places them behind the subject with automatic masking, adds sound effects automatically, and applies layer-aware post-process effects. No caption tool does this.

### After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Motion
Powerful professional tools that take skilled designers hours or days. Sleepy Motion delivers high-end results in minutes, on desktop or mobile, and DaVinci Resolve or any free editor is a handy companion for preparing Sleepy Pro scenes.

## Pages

- [Homepage / Video Generator](https://sleepymotion.com)
- [Video Ad Maker](https://sleepymotion.com/video-ad-maker): a finished video ad from a description or your website.
- [Website to Video Ad](https://sleepymotion.com/website-to-video-ad): "make an ad for yourwebsite.com" is enough. Sleepy reads the site (logo, font downloaded or closely matched, brand colors, product photos varied per take, what the business does and its tone, which drive the script, vibe, music and sound effects) and returns a ready-to-post ad in about 2 minutes. It skips website images with text baked in (like sale banners). The logo is always cut out and photos are cut out when that suits the design; users decide themselves with "remove the background" or "keep the background", and small asks like "do everything in a dark theme" darken the backgrounds and effects while the words keep the brand colors and white. In Custom mode Sleepy uses exactly what you upload, so upload cutouts yourself. Every generate is a different take; when product photos run out it finds a new direction (e.g. a Sleepy Pro 3D scene). Works with a logo, photos or both, on every plan.
- [Explainer Video Maker](https://sleepymotion.com/explainer-video-maker): short animated explainers, script included.
- [Animated Text Video Maker](https://sleepymotion.com/animated-text-video-maker): kinetic typography, quote videos and announcements.

Other tools automate the mask but leave the text to you. Free on videos up to 15 seconds.
- [Remove Silences From Video](https://sleepymotion.com/remove-silences-from-video): upload a raw take and AI edit returns it cut to the point, captioned, translated if you want, with sound effects (every paid plan; full 2-minute takes on Agency).
